Fresh Snow at Arrowhead Nordic – Blue Mountain Trails Opening Soon!

Hello Arrowhead Nordic Community,

Welcome to our new subscribers—and thank you for bringing the SNOW!  We were blessed with a foot or so of fresh snow in the last 24 hours, with hopes for a few more inches tonight! Our volunteer groomers will be out this afternoon and tomorrow to have the trails ready for you!

Blue Mountain Arrowhead Trails – Opening Soon!

If grooming goes as planned, we’re excited to open the Blue Mountain Arrowhead Trails!  As these are brand-new trails, we’re still finalizing grooming routes and classic track placement. You may encounter sections that are single-track, lightly groomed, or still in progress—thank you in advance for your patience as we continue dialing things in.

Please also note that grooming may be happening at any time. When you see equipment on the trails, step safely to the side and allow groomers to pass.

Getting There:
Start at the Trailhead, ski out to the Big Blue Loop, and use Elk Crossing to cross Alpine Plateau Road to access the Blue Mountain Arrowhead entrance. We’re still confirming exact kilometers, but here are some approximate distances for reference:

  • Big Blue Loop (Westside): 2.5 km
  • Meadowlark Loop: 1.5 km
  • Hullabaloop: 1.5 km
  • Blue Mountain Drive: 3 km

Some trail markers are already in place, with additional signage and maps coming soon at the trailhead and Blue Mountain Arrowhead entrance. Cell service is very limited on the trails, so we recommend saving a photo of the trail map to your phone before heading out.

Dog Policy Reminder:
Dogs are not allowed on the Blue Mountain Arrowhead Trails but are welcome on the Base Area/Lodge side. The lodge also offers pet-friendly rooms if you’d like to extend your stay. Please help us keep trails clean by burying treasures in deeper snow or using the bags provided at the trailhead. Thank you! As for the elk, deer, foxes, and coyotes—they don’t follow directions well, so please help out when you can!
