This is not the update we had hoped to be bringing to you today. Mother Nature gave us a fresh dusting of new snow, which always lifts our spirits up on the Alpine, but it unfortunately wasn’t enough to fully refresh the trails. Last week’s balmy temperatures were not kind to our snowpack and while the new snow looks beautiful, the forecast is showing several sunny 50 degree days early next week, which means it will likely melt quickly.
Trail Closure
Because of the continued melting, the trails have developed too many thin areas and bare spots to remain safe for skiing. After evaluating the conditions, we simply don’t feel comfortable keeping the trails open. Between the soft snow, exposed ground, and rapidly changing conditions, it’s no longer possible to provide the safe and enjoyable experience we want for everyone.
As a result, we will be officially closing the trails and ending the season a bit earlier than we had hoped. {enter sad face here}
Thank You for an Incredible Season
We are incredibly grateful for the support, encouragement, and excitement surrounding our second official season and our trail expansion. Watching more people discover and enjoy Nordic skiing up here has been truly rewarding for our entire team.
While the season is ending sooner than we hoped, we have plenty of work ahead of us this off-season. We’ll be improving trails, continuing to build momentum, and getting everything ready so we can come back next winter stronger than ever.
Winter may be taking an early bow this year, but we know the snow will return to the Alpine. Until then, thank you for being part of the Arrowhead Nordic community—we can’t wait to see you back on the trails next season. ❄️🎿
Thank you all!
